MTN 4G IS NOW AVAILABLE.
MTN finally announced that its 4G network is now available in selected locations across Nigeria. At the earlier stage, MTN NEW only restricted the 4G network to Visa phone users.
In the wake of new cheap and affordable data plans, MTN made stand out position among the rest network providers by bringing it on new and existing customers.
Here is a breakdown on how you can configure your device to start flexing with the fast Internet signal.
Depending on the device you are using, find out how you can easily upgrade your software and/or activate MTN 4G network on your smartphone!
For IOS___Follow these steps
>>From your home screen, tap on settings
>>Scroll down to notification and select General
>>Tap on software update... Then select the software to download if available.. And install it.
For those using Android device, please follow these steps.
>>From the home screen, tap Apps
>>Scroll and tap Settings
>>Scroll to the About Phone and tap System Update
>>Tap Update the available for download
>>If a system update is available, follow the prompts to install the update. Otherwise tap OK.
Once the update has been installed. You have to enable the 4G network for you to start browsing With it.
Now go to Settings on your phone tap on more options, go to mobile networks, click on preferred network type and select LTE/WMCDA
*note* that sometimes after a software update, your device might reboot. So I strongly recommend you perform a phone backup so as not to loose any stuff during the update.
Some device does not support 4G network, so to know If your device is enabled for it... Send as an sms 4G to 131 from an MTN sim.
To check your data speed and average performance, you can send IVN to 1155 as an sms.
